JAMB Opens UTME Slip Printing, But Candidates Still Unable to Access Portal After 14 Hours

Image
The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced the commencement of 2026 UTME examination slip printing. However, more than 14 hours after the announcement, many candidates are still unable to access the reprint portal. As of 6:30am on Friday, April 10, complaints about the site’s inaccessibility persist. Why You Should Avoid the UTME Mock Examination

Image
The UTME Mock Examination is often promoted as a helpful preparation tool for candidates. While it has its benefits, it is important to note that it is not compulsory. In fact, for some students, participating in the mock UTME may not be necessary or even helpful. Depending on a student’s level of preparedness, learning style, and resources, avoiding the mock can sometimes be a better choice. One reason some students may need to avoid the mock UTME is unnecessary pressure . The mock can create anxiety, especially for candidates who are already confident in their preparation. Instead of helping them feel ready, it may increase fear and self-doubt if the score is low. This can affect motivation and confidence going into the main UTME. Another issue is financial cost . Registering for the mock UTME requires extra payment. For families already struggling with school fees, textbooks, and exam registration, the mock can become an added burden. Some students may prefer to invest that money ...

A notable intervention was the dissolution of the governing council at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN), followed by the appointment of a new Acting Vice-Chancellor. Vanguard news recently reported that the Alumni of UNN praised this move as essential for restoring “integrity in the recruitment process". Such actions help stabilize leadership and minimize administrative disruptions. Students been...
