JAMB Opens UTME Slip Printing, But Candidates Still Unable to Access Portal After 14 Hours

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced the commencement of 2026 UTME examination slip printing. However, more than 14 hours after the announcement, many candidates are still unable to access the reprint portal. As of 6:30am on Friday, April 10, complaints about the site’s inaccessibility persist. In its official update on X (formerly Twitter) by 4:02am yesterday, JAMB informed candidates that the examination slip (which contains key details such as venue, date, and time) is now ready for printing via its website. Despite this, a large number of candidates have continued to experience difficulties accessing the portal. Observations as at 6:35am today show that the reprint platform remains either slow, unresponsive, or completely inaccessible for many users, even hours after the announcement was made. Opinion: Why Universities' Academic Calendars Have Been Stable Over The Past Couple Of Years

According to a recent report in Premier Times, academic calendars of our ivory towers have been stable for the past couple of years. This stability becomes obvious with the fact that there have not been industrial unrest by the Academic Staff Union of Nigerian Universities (ASUU) in the last 2 or so. What can be the reasons this stability? One of the things that has been done to achieve stability in our universities is the strengthening of institution governance in the federal universities. Tinubu’s administration has taken steps to enforce good governance in Nigerian universities. A notable intervention was the dissolution of the governing council at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN), followed by the appointment of a new Acting Vice-Chancellor.
